Diseases legislation

Several Acts regulate efforts to combat diseases at the federal level. This legislation, managed by the FOPH on behalf of policymakers, includes the Rare Diseases Act, the Cancer Registration Act and the Epidemics Act.

Rare diseases legislation

A new federal act is intended to improve the conditions for the implementation of measures to tackle rare diseases.

Communicable Diseases Legislation – Epidemics Act, (EpidA)

The Epidemics Act aims to ensure that communicable diseases are detected, monitored, prevented and controlled at an early stage and helps to better manage disease outbreaks with a high risk potential.
