Accident prevention: FCOS

The Federal Coordination Commission for Occupational Safety (FCOS) coordinates the individual activities of the implementing bodies provided the Federal Council has not issued any specific provisions.

The Federal Coordination Commission for Occupational Safety (FCOS) coordinates the individual activities of the implementing bodies provided the Federal Council has not issued any specific provisions. It also ensures the provisions on the prevention of occupational accidents and diseases are applied consistently in organisations. The FCOS can also submit proposals to the Federal Council regarding the adoption of regulations to prevent occupational accidents and diseases. It can also authorise Suva to conclude contracts with suitable organisations on specific implementation tasks in the area of prevention of occupational accidents and diseases.
