The previous Ordinance on the Prevention of Accidents and Occupational Diseases when Working in Compressed Air was totally revised to reflect technical developments and the current working environment. The new ordinance on the safety of employees when working in compressed air came into force on 1 January 2016.

Exemption clauses for police and rescue divers

After the new ordinance was published, it became clear that the totally revised regulations for diving work failed to take adequate account of the particularities of emergency and rescue missions carried out by police and rescue divers on the one hand, and the professional training activity of diving instructors on the other. Some exemption clauses were therefore drawn up to this effect as special provisions. They have been in force since 15 October 2016.
