Health insurance: Insured persons performing military or civilian service

Insured persons performing military or civilian service can have their compulsory health insurance suspended for the duration of their service.

If more than 60 consecutive days of service are performed in the armed forces, civilian service or civil protection, health insurance can be suspended for this period. This is because the risk of illness and accidents is covered by military insurance throughout the period of service. Information on the relevant procedure will be provided by the authorities responsible for the service in question, to whom any queries should be addressed.
