Revision of Optional Deductibles in the HIO

In August 2015 the Federal Department of Home Affairs (FDHA) proposed a revision of the provisions for optional deductibles in the Health Insurance Ordinance (HIO). It decided to abandon this proposal after the consultation stage.

Between 17 August and 12 November 2015, the FDHA invited the Cantons, parties and interested bodies to comment on a revision of the provisions for optional deductibles in the HIO. The FDHA proposed to reduce the number of optional deductibles and the discounts on premiums.

It decided to abandon this proposal following the outcome of the consultation process.
