Field of action 2: Information, awareness-raising and empowerment

NAPS helps people in Switzerland gain fact-based knowledge about the risks and protection options.  It also empowers people who are particularly affected and provides them with the relevant psychosocial resources.

For people in Switzerland to take care of their health, they must have access to fact-based knowledge. In particular, population groups subject to an increased risk of infection need comprehensive information about risky situations and the options for protection. One focus of the NAPS programme is therefore needs-based information and awareness-raising.

People must also be empowered to make use of healthcare services in good time.  For this reason, NAPS specifically promotes psychosocial resources that are important for maintaining or regaining health among the key groups.

Sexual education also lays an essential foundation for ensuring that people in Switzerland know

  • how to protect themselves from infection
  • what they can do for their health in the event of an infection
