Medical practice assistants

The medical practice assistant proficiency certificate (EFZ) provides evidence of the necessary qualifications for non-high-dose diagnostic procedures. Further information can be found here.

Medical practice assistants are thus entitled to operate X-ray systems for diagnostic purposes under the direction of an expert physician. This does not include the operation of X-ray systems for fluoroscopy or computer tomography. The only activities permitted are imaging of the thorax and appendicular skeleton, as well as the performance of constancy tests.

Training course – radiography of trunk and abdomen

For imaging of the abdomen and trunk, medical practice assistants have to undergo further training to gain the qualifications required for additional conventional imaging techniques. Additional conventional imaging techniques.
