Integrity, transparency and discounts (ITD)

The granting of advantages of any kind must not influence the prescribing, use or supply of prescription-only medicines. Any received discounts and rebates should be reported and passed on to the insurer or insured.

The new regulations on integrity, transparency and discounts have applied since 1 January 2020. The FOPH is responsible for enforcing these regulations.

Prosecution in relation to ITD

The FOPH enforces the administrative regulations with respect to integrity, transparency and discounts (“ITD”). The FOPH is also responsible for initiating criminal proceedings against violations of these regulations.
