The Chemicals Act (ChemA) aims to protect the lives and health against the harmful effects of chemicals.
The Chemicals Act (ChemA) aims to protect the lives and health of people against the harmful effects of dangerous chemical substances and preparations (chemical mixtures or solutions). Hazards that develop indirectly via the environment are covered by the Environmental Protection Act and are therefore not the subject of the ChemA. Safety at work, which is primarily regulated by legislation on employment and accident insurance, is indirectly covered by the ChemA. It is taken into account primarily in connection with risk management, safety data sheets and the classification and labelling of substances and preparations.
