Border re-openings as of 15 June

Bern, 15.6.2020 - The Schengen States are lifting most border checks as of 15 June. Persons entering Switzerland from countries with high numbers of new infections may be subject to temperature checks on arrival in Switzerland.

Switzerland is also lifting its entry restrictions for persons from the Schengen Area. However, it reserves the right to conduct health-related measures on arrival for persons travelling from countries with high numbers of new infections in relation to population size. This is currently the case with regard to Sweden. From 15 June, passengers arriving on direct flights from Sweden will therefore have their temperature checked at the airport. Persons with signs of a high temperature will be given a medical examination and, if necessary, be tested for COVID-19.

This health-related measure will apply until further notice. The FOPH is currently considering whether further measures are necessary.

You will find further information under Recommendations for travellers.
