New Coronavirus: Focus on contact tracing, campaign colour changes to blue

5.6.2020 - The focus of our campaign is now on contact tracing to break the chain of infection and the colour is changing to blue to reflect this. The most important measures remain keeping your distance and washing your hands.

The Federal Council is easing further measures as of 6 June, meaning that Switzerland is now entering a new phase. To indicate this new phase, the colour of the campaign is changing to blue. We still need to observe a range of protective measures in day-to-day life to keep the infection rate low. One of these is keeping your distance, even if monetary penalties for non-compliance are no longer imposed.

Focus on contact tracing

The focus of the campaign is now on contact tracing to trace the chain of transmission. The aim here is to continue to continue to contain the spread of coronavirus and prevent a second wave. Contact tracing involves identifying people who have come into close contact with someone who has become infected and ensuring that they quarantine themselves. Anyone who is ill must isolate themselves. That way the chain of infection can be broken. You can find more information under Isolation and quarantine.

SwissCovid App

In addition to contact tracing, the SwissCovid app should be available for smartphones in a few weeks. The app notifies you if you have been in close proximity to someone who is ill, even if you do not know that individual personally. More information on the SwissCovid app.

Follow the hygiene and social distancing rules

The coronavirus is still with us. To make sure that as few people as possible have to isolate or quarantine themselves, continue to follow the following rules:

  • Keep a distance of 2 metres from others whenever possible.
  • If it’s not possible to keep your distance, wear a face mask, e.g. when using public transport.
  • Wash your hands regularly and thoroughly.
  • Avoid shaking hands
  • Avoid hugs and kisses when greeting people.
  • Cough or sneeze into a tissue or the crook of your arm. Vermeiden Sie Umarmungen oder Begrüssungsküsse.
