Reproductive medicine legislation
The Federal Act of 18 December 1998 on Medically Assisted Reproduction (Reproduction Medicine Act, RMA) lays down the conditions under which the methods of medically assisted reproduction may be used.
The Reproduction Medicine Act came into force on 1 January 2001 together with the ordinance of the same name and the Ordinance on the National Advisory Commission on Biomedical Ethics. The basis for all reproductive medicine is Article 119 of the Federal Constitution.
