Radon action plan 2021-2030

The Radon Action Plan 2021–2030 was adopted by the Federal Council in May 2020. It ensures the continuation of the radon protection strategy and is a further development of the Radon Action Plan 2012–2020.

On 12 November 2025, the Federal Council approved the interim report on the Radon Action Plan 2021-2030. This progress report on the action plan presents the status of implementation of the objectives and provides an outlook until 2030.

Radon

Radon is a naturally occurring, radioactive noble gas, which can seep into buildings through the ground. Switzerland is particularly affected by this problem due to its geology. The current radon protection strategy is set out in the 2021-2030 action plan.
