Treatment with oral magnesium salts is covered by the compulsory health insurance for the licensed indications. A HTA report has been commissioned to examine the clinical efficacy and effectiveness, safety, and budget impact as well as the ethical, legal, social and organizational aspects of magnesium for muscle cramps and for the prevention of the recurrence of calcium oxalate stones in the urinary tract.
