Healthcare provision for asylum seekers
Asylum seekers and refugees often face particular health risks and issues and require appropriate healthcare. Several studies have been mandated by the FOPH on their situation and how to improve their health care.
Help for people who have fled Ukraine
Persons with protection Status S also have rights to medical care in Switzerland. Please refer to the site Health information for people who have fled Ukraine.
We support various activities and research projects designed to analyse and improve the quality of healthcare provision for asylum seekers. A study on healthcare for traumatised asylum seekers is already available. It provides an insight into how experts rate the care situation regarding mental health and sets out recommendations for improved care of traumatised asylum seekers.
This study and other studies already completed can be found in the infobox below (see "Documents") or (in German) on the following website: Gesundheitsversorgung für Asylsuchende.
Information on further studies on the health of asylum seekers can be found (in German) at: Laufende Forschungsprojekte zu gesundheitlicher Chancengleichheit.
Information on the prevention of communicable diseases in asylum centres is available (in German) at: Infektionskontrolle für Asylsuchende.
