FWP aerosol collector

In addition to the high-volume samplers (HVS), the URA section also operates three aerosol samplers with a lower volume throughput (approx. 40 m3/h). These devices continuously filter dust from the ambient air.

In addition to the HVS, the URA section maintains 2 FWP aerosol collectors. These FWP aerosol collectors permanently collect dust from the air at 2 locations in Switzerland (Saignelégier (JU) and Morges (VD)). The filters can then be measured by gamma spectrometry in the URA laboratory. They filter around 40m3 of air per hour. The filters are changed once a week.
