Amendment of the UVG in connection with the Motion 11.3811 Darbellay
On March, the 2nd 2022, the Swiss parliament rejected Darbellay's motion 11.3811 ‘To close the gaps in accident insurance’. As a result, the administration was instructed to amend the UVG and, where necessary, other related regulations, with a view to guaranteeing the payment of daily allowances in cases where incapacity for work is due to a relapse or the late sequelae of an accident that occurred when the insured person was younger.
On 27 September 2024, the Federal Council adopted the message concerning the amendment of the UVG: implementation of motion 11.3811 Darbellay ‘To close the gaps in accident insurance’.
Parliament approved the bill on 26 September 2025. Work to amend the implementing ordinance is currently underway. The amendments are scheduled to come into force on 1 January 2027.
