Accident prevention: Oversight

The FOPH oversees the executive bodies concerned with occupational safety. It is also responsible for revising the legal provisions on the prevention of occupational accidents and illnesses.

The Federal Office of Public Health (FOPH) oversees the executive bodies concerned with occupational safety. It is also responsible for revising the legal provisions on the prevention of occupational accidents and illnesses. In addition, the FOPH monitors legal rulings in the area of prevention of occupational accidents and illnesses and, where necessary, prepares opinions for the Federal Supreme Court. Its remit also includes dealing with enquiries on the prevention of occupational accidents and illnesses, implementing the bilateral agreements in this area and supervising the activities of the FCOS.
