Accident prevention: FCOS

In the absence of provisions enacted by the Federal Council, the Federal Coordination Commission for Occupational Safety (FCOS) coordinates the individual areas of activity of the executive bodies.

In the absence of provisions enacted by the Federal Council, the Federal Coordination Commission for Occupational Safety (FCOS) coordinates the individual areas of activity of the executive bodies. It also ensures that regulations on the prevention of occupational accidents and illnesses are consistently applied in companies. The FCOS can also submit proposals to the Federal Council on the adoption of regulations to prevent occupational accidents and illnesses. It can also authorise Suva to conclude contracts with suitable organisations concerning specific implementation tasks in the area of prevention of occupational accidents and illnesses.
